A New Beginning
Easter Sunrise. An appropriate day – and time of day — to begin this blog about the children’s book, Jesus from A to Z. Clearly.
So at the start here: Happy Easter. May it be a day of grace and renewal. As always.
As with all blogs, I suppose, it’s hard to say where this one will go. To be sure, there will be plenty about the book, which I wrote and the amazing Jennifer Yoswa illustrated. It’s been a three-plus year journey to reach this point, and just this week the book celebrated its official publication day on Tuesday, April 7, 2009.
There have been many “new beginnings” for Jesus from A to Z as it has moved from concept to bookstore shelf. And to be sure, Tuesday was a big one. However, more firsts lie ahead, and we are all thankful for the positive feedback and kudos received thus far.
On this blog over the coming months, you will find posts about what’s currently happening with the book: reviews, endorsements, book signings, other successes, anything of import.
Probably even some talk of problems and grumbling, to keep it interesting. For instance, someone already has questioned some of the angels in the book. Let the introspection begin.
Hopefully, though, there also will be posts over time about the many stories behind the book’s creation – about the a-to-z list, the pages themselves, the process, the hurdles, the fun, and about the people who have come along during this journey of creation.
Beyond the book, however, my hope is to share on this blog other things happening in my world. Many topics may tie to the book somehow, but perhaps some won’t. Having always been a writer who enjoyed writing about what other people have accomplished and done, and one who has shied away from much personal disclosure, this won’t be easy.
But as the title of this first post states, it’s time for another new beginning – for both book and writer.
